What Is A Masternode And Just how Is It Useful For Cryptocoin Traders

In the cryptosphere, there is a saying only those who can finally analyze the marketplace or are day traders can generate income. But that’s incorrect!!

In the cryptosphere, there are several ways through which you can make income and earn a handsome amount of money. And the smartest thing is that you can choose the most effective way that works for both you and can accordingly change your reward/risk ratio.

A single such way of getting in cryptosphere is by running a masternode, but before I tell you how to do that it is essential that you first determine what a masternode is.

What Is A Masternode? Masternode is simply a cryptocurrency full client or computer wallet that keeps the full copy of the blockchain in real-time, just like your have Bitcoin full nodes and is always up & running.

Yet masternodes are significantly different in their functionality than normal nodes.

They are different because they perform several other functions apart from just keeping the full blockchain and communicating blocks/transactions as a full node does in Bitcoin/Litcoin.

Some of the special functions that these nodes perform are:

Increasing privacy of transactions Doing instant transactions Participating in governance and voting Enable budgeting and treasury system in cryptos These masternodes aren't standalone nevertheless they are communicating with other such nodes to make a decentralized network and are often known in short form as MN.

Take note: Mostly the masternodes perform the tasks that I have listed above but it can slightly change from cryptocurrency to cryptocurrency depending when how masternodes have been implemented. But more or less they perform these functions in a cryptocurrency.

Exactly what Does It Get To Run A Masternode?

Just like full nodes in a cryptocurrency, masternodes can be run by anyone. Nevertheless, there is an entry barrier in spot to ensure that the system doesn’t get malicious. The entry barrier is what one needs to commit or collateralize certain units of this particular cryptocurrency to operate a masternode.

This really is done to ensure that a masternode owner doesn’t be a cheater or corrupt the system and the best of doing this is by placing this entry barrier where the masternode operator has something on the line in the whole game.

Therefore naturally, it is very less likely that the masternode operator will cheat because he has a stake in running the whole system and even if he or she chooses to do this he will be punished in the form of devaluation that belongs to them HODLings.

Now that you have understood the concept of masternode, allow us to see what everything are required to set it up:

You need a minimum amount of coins of that particular crypto. (For DASH MN you need 1000 DASH units and for PIVX MN you need ten, 000 PIVX units) So this minimal number varies from crypto to crypto One needs a VIRTUAL PRIVATE SERVER or server to host that finances for 24 x seven One needs a dedicated IP address for that You need some storage space space to save the blockchain They are the pretty much same requirements for any masternode cryptocurrency.

Now I know some you might be thinking that to meet all these above pre-requisites one needs to invest first, so then how will someone earn?

Absolutely correct! Which takes me to my next section of this write-up which gives further clearness on the subject.

Just how Are Masternodes Useful For Cryptocoin Traders? Masternodes are incredibly helpful for crypto investors because of running a masternode you are incentivized. Consider it just like making a monthly or weekly interest on your crypto holdings.

Different cryptocurrencies have different incentive models through which an MN operator can earn a decently monthly or every week income. I call it smart unaggressive income.

If you are invested in a cryptocurrency that allows you to run a masternode, you should definitely explore that option of earning.

Another thing to understand the following is that you should choose the right foreign currency for investment if you are exclusively investing in running a masternode. You should compare the percentage produce against the investment. In short, you should smartly calculate your ROI.

As of now, there are many cryptos out there in the market that allow you to operate a masternode but not all of them are worth running because of meager bonuses they provide.
